Capture Scenes As Seperate Files

Uridium

Question

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is possible for individual scenes to be split out in to seperate AVI files on capture from my camcorder?

Or do I have to capture first in to a single file and then seperate the files out?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

EMC 10 does not capture DV avi as separate files.

I user a small, free utility called WinDV. All it does is capture video from a DV camcorder to DV avi format- what I like about it it captures the video to individual files based on the timestamp on the tape. I find that makes it much easier to edit later since you are only working with small clips instead of a huge file. It only seems to work with XP only.

Thanks for the reply.

Seems odd that such a useful, small feature that appears in the free software I got with the Sony camera, and the free software in Vista does it, but a paid for product doesn't.

The software does capture the scenes. It just isn't as straight forward, getting them into the editing portion of the suite, as capturing with WinDV.
