Installation Of Creator 2009 Interupted

Tiff

Question

Hi all,

I hope someone can please help me. I have just received Creator 2009 from the states (i am in Australia). On first installation it got right through to the rollback stage, then a popup appeared "installation interupted please try again another time"..

When i re-inserted the disc, i then received pop up setup error 000d........googled and found out that this error code is common with roxio programs...so, i did everything that was prompted.....cleaned out all old roxio programs etc.

After doing this, i was then able to get passed the 000d error message and commence setup, but, alas, the same thing happened "installation interupted please try again another time'....

I looked on the roxio website and found instructions to fix this exact problem, so did all the things advised. Still, no success. I then went into the details of cleaning out the registry, hidden files etc.......Still, no success. Same prompt comes up..

Can someone PLEASE help.! I am so incredibly frustrated. I have contacted support, the guy on the chat told me he couldn't help and to call roxio...not likely given i am in AUstralia. I'm still waiting to hear back from tech support from a 'ticket' that i filled out for advise, but thought i would ask my fellow roxio users if any of you have had the same problem, and if so, how do i get passed that rollback stage without having the entire installation freeze up.

Thanks everyone...hope like mad to hear from someone soon

Cheers

Tiff

p.s - i have just realised that the C didn't print in the title...its supposed to say CREATOR......:-)

I had a rollback problem with Creator 2009 on Vista HP. Check out this thread

http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=42152

I found that if I installed .NET v 3.5 manually, AND then uninstalled it, prior to the install of C2009, I was able to get past the rollback. I believe that in uninstalling a prior release of Roxio EMC, something got left behind. Clean Install didn't catch the problem.

Also check out the thread Grandpabruce notes above. It fixes an incomplete installation of C2009 on Vista. It has worked for me.

Removing that uninstall key should also resolve the message about EMC 11 Content not being able to install because EMC 10 is not installed. I can only speak to the Vista HP environment with Creator 2009, installing from disk, not the DVD.

EMC 10 is NOT required to install Creator 2009. I believe the message should read "EMC 11" rather than "EMC 10". I received it many times in trying to get a complete install of C2009. Until the faulty Uninstall key is deleted, the Roxio installation will proceed, but certain components don't get installed (Video, Audio, Photo) and the EMC 11 Content installation step will fail. Probably an update to the message is needed to avoid this confusion. I believe there will be some new KB articles published soon with some "official" resolutions/recommendations for the installation problems.

Hi,

Don't know if this will help, but I had EMC 10, then purchased Creator 2009 on a Vista Home Premium 32 bit laptop. I first uninstalled EMC10, and when I tried to install Creator 2009, I kept receiving error messages. I kept cancelling the installation, then reloading the disk, and tried again. Every time I tried to install I got a DIFFERENT error code message. Finally after 5 or 6 times, I was able to install the entire program. However, the help file is missing the linked information. If I try linking to something in help, I get a blank box. I recommend you just keep trying to install the disk, if you get an error message, cancel the install, remove the disk, and start over, however many times it takes!

Gosh, I am still having major problems with this. I am SO incredibly frustrated. I have tried EVERYTHING that has been advised by my fellow roxio friends, and received very LITTLE help from Roxio themselves. I want to send this #$^@ thing back and get a refund.! I have wasted 4 days now removing stuff, fixing things....its going to take me hours to put programs back on that i have removed in the hope that roxio would load...!

If anyone else has any other advise I'd love to hear it.

Thanks to everyone that has already responded. Your help is very much appreciated.

Tiff :-)

In addition to what "grandpabruce" has recommended, I suggest you try copying the contents of the installation disc to say desktop in a folder and then try installing the from that folder.

Many thanks firehancer! After several frustrating days trying to install the ultimate edition and repeatedly trying "clean install procedures" and spending money on the phone line to no avail, failing to set up a ticket (got a procedure error indicating my ID had not been appended despite being logged on at the time, I was on the point of sending the product back!!!

Then I went onto the forum and found your suggestion of copy the install disc to the desktop and installing from there. It worked a treat. I wonder why but who cares! For information I had no previous Roxio or Sonic products and installed on Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1. So here's to you firehancer! By the way it is a pity that USA clients get 90 days free phone support but we don't in the UK!

Oh well glad thinks got sorted out for you. I suspect there is a batch of media discs are either bad or poor which has affected few users. I'm sure this is being looked into. Not sure about 90 day support policy (since I can't find it), but I understand where you come from.
