"2 gigs of memory" does not tell us very much. Also "memory" is generally not a big factor when creating a file since the file is really on your hard drive. How much free space do you have on your hard? What exactly do you mean by "it locks ups"? Saving a project should really only take seconds since all it does create a small file containg your project instructions. Or are you refrring to using "Output As" and your are creating a video file?
