PhotoShow 5 shuts down unexpectedly

PhotoShow 5 is an older version.

 

If you can see the icon for PhotoShow 5 you should be able to use it.

 

"An unexpected error has occured." Photo Show will now close" This is a problem

for many of us. Nothing I have done works. I have the icon on my desktop for

Simple Star's Photo Show 5 Deluxe version. Many threads have described the

same problem and removing the PS4 image files, uninstalling and reinstalling

has helped no one.

 

I've written to this board over and over again. I have support tickets in and

get no help. If I remove the Roxio Photo Show completely, will my old Photo Show 5

Deluxe from simple star work again? I need it, and if you've read my other threads

for the last few weeks, you'll see how I'm struggling.

I had that problem, and deleting the PS4 image database file, then reinstalling Photoshow, but without first uninstalling it - that is, do not uninstall, just reinstall, cured the problem for me, and it's been working fine since. I was able to create a show using more than one music file, choose my show icon, captions, transitions, and clip art, then post it on line to my Roxio photoshow web sharing page, without incident. I was even able to edit the show on line, to change the order of some of the pictures, and correct a spelling error in a caption, and it stayed in the same font as I had originally posted it! Unfortunately, when I added another photo to the show, the music was interrupted, and now there is a slight change in there, but I can live with that. Good luck.

You suggested that to me before and I've done it almost daily and it just doesn't work for me. I still get that message. I removed the PS4 image database file, then I reinstalled Photo Show from the CD I have. I did it tonight again. I'm so frustrated. Thanks for trying to help me.

Please note: If you are using a non-Comcast version of PhotoShow 4 or earlier on Vista, it will not work.

 

With that said...

 

You can try the solution below however, you will loose the Shows saved to your program.

 

Uninstall the program. During the uninstall process uncheck the box asking you to keep the PhotoShow database. Then reinstall PhotoShow.

 

You can download your shows from your site back into your program after the new install.

This continues to happened to me. I am also so frustrated. If I decide to do the uninstall and reinstall again, it will be the third time I am doing it, and a real pain in the a** to download all the photoshows back to the desktop.

 

I am really looking for something else to purchase. Obviously paying for premium service means nothing.
