.exe Files Only Unzip, Don't Go Anywhere.

Cstuber

Question

I just purchased the C2009. First download was for RoxioCreator2009_DownloadManager.exe. Double clicked that file which brought up another download screen which then downloaded FN56GA50R13 RoxioCreator2009.exe and then FP19AZS0SQA_EMC11Content_7Lang.exe. When the first download ended, WinZip Self-Extractor started while the 2nd file was downloading. Those unzipped files are nowhere on my computer. If I double click on the .exe files, they just unzip again and go nowhere. I'm quite upset that I had to purchase this product a second time...anyway. I'm running Windows XP SP2. Any suggestions as to where my install files went?

Did you search for the file? Check in the My Documents folder. If you have Vista, you might check in the C:\Users folders.

I didn't let it automatically unzip but used Winzip manually and saved it to a folder I created on my desktop. I suggest that when you do find it, after installing it, use Creator Classic to burn these programs to disc.

Thank you Beerman for your reply. It seems I didn't have a choice, or did I miss something in the download process, because the unzip started automatically. Perhaps I should have hit cancel? I'm running Windows XP SP2 and did put everything in it's own file. When I couldn't find the unzipped files, I did do a search on the drive(s). Anyway, I re-downloaded the product and perhaps my first download was corrupted because the second download did get the product installed. However, it won't run. So now I'll do the "clean" thing...AGAIN. I had EMC7 which I LOVED and which suddenly stopped working. After investigating these boards, determined that the problem lies with updated programs elsewhere (MS vs SONIC). Because I use this product to communicate with my family and friends (I've relocated), I was forced to purchase the newer version to continue and that doesn't make me very happy or confident that some other program's upgrade will affect the new version. Having this much trouble from the get-go, I'm on the verge of requesting a refund. But again, thank you for your help and suggestions. Once I get the thing running properly (crossing fingers) I will most certainly be burning a copy.

The exe self extractor is faulty. Right click and manually extract the files, or alternatively use winzip to extract them and put them where you want them. However, the wretched app still won't install - see my other thread.

It also appears the Roxio's avenues for returns are non operational.

Good luck

Isn't that what I said?
