Please post the specific error you are getting and what you are doing when you get this error. And, what drive you have in your laptop.

in the welcome screen the left hand side the cd shows in use by William My user name. If I try to burn anything I get the error (The TSSTcorp DVD+RW TS-L632H drive is in use by William. Please wait until project is compleate, and try again)

There is no other burnig software in this laptop other than windows whitch there is no files ready to be burnt and windows media player where there is no pendin burn.

the drive is listed as The TSSTcorp DVD+RW TS-L632H ATA device

Thanks

I'm almost stumped. Only thing I can think of is an old fix from years ago when I used Windows 98. Try reinstalling the ASPI Driver

You can also try removing the drive in Device Manager and then reboot. It will be picked up by Windows upon reboot and may clear things out.

I have rebooted, removed device driver, and tried the windows media player it will start to burn but give me the licens error. All I have for programs is roxio and media player. Its a lap top so no other drive for swap. any other ideas? I appreciate the help

I do not think Vista uses a ASPI driver becouse I can not find one

No, it's not needed in Windows NT/2000/XP or Vista but some software can use it. I felt it was not going to make a difference anyway and was just throwing it out there.

Do you have any virtual drives installed, Alchohol 120%, CloneDVD or the like?
