Question

I'm using the LaCie d2 DVD+/-RW Drive with my iMac desktop, and following the instructions on pages 43 and 44 of the owner's guide when the Verbatim CD-R disc is inserted I get this message, 'Please insert a recordable disc.' with two options, CLOSE TRAY or CANCEL.

Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do? I'm simply trying to record some printed data from the computer.

Thanks in advance to those willing to assist,...it's very much appreciated

You probably have Toast at its default setting in which it is looking for you to insert the disc in the Mac's internal drive. At the bottom of the Toast window you should see the name of the drive that Toast is set to use for burning. Click on the name and Toast will automatically select the next available drive. This selection is also available in a button near the top of the Recorder Settings window.

By the way, the slot-loading drives built into iMacs don't have a try so Toast always thinks the tray is open when there isn't a disc inserted.
