Burning A Dvd With A Menu

C-los

Question

I just recently started using PhotoShow5 to make slideshows of my pictures/videos. I also use the software to burn DVDs of my slideshows to send to family members so that they can play and view the slide show on their TVs.

The DVDs burn perfectly, I only have one wish. As soon as I put the DVD into the player, the slide show begins. I would love it if I could make up a title menu slide, like in DVD movies?

Is this possible? This way the DVD would wait for the user to hit the play button before the slideshow begins instead of starting right away. Thanks for any feedback.

Malatekid- Are you sure? A friend of mine used the Photoshow software and he was able to place a menu in his DVD so that he had to hit play to get the slideshow to begin. I know he used Photoshow because it has the Photoshow logo at the end of the slide show.

I would hate to have to buy another DVD burning software. I alreadsy have Roxio Creator 6 Platinum Edition and then I paid the $14.99 option in Photoshow to burn straight to DVD.

Can I create a slideshow with Photoshow and then use Roxio Creator 6 to burn the slide show with a menu?

I guess another option I have is to make the transition of the 1st slide longer (in seconds) than the other slides to make it appear like a top menu, but I would rather have a play option.

Thank you all for your time,

You can export the Show as a video file and use another burning program to make a separate DVD. This will give you a menu and any other content you want.

Yeah, I'm sure. Posts #2 and #4 basically say the same thing. :)

The difference with post #2 and post #4 is that in post #2 it appears as though I needed to buy Roxio Creator 2009 and #4 explains that if I already had a DVD burning software (which I do), then I could use that one to create a menu after I saved the slideshow as a video in PhotoShow.

Either way, sorry if I did not understand that the 1st time. Thank you all for your help.

I just used Creator 2009 as an example of a software that offers functionality to create menu. That software also has burning capability.

Does your DVD burning software has an authoring feature (i.e., to create menus)? That would be great if you already have one.

malatekid- I have Roxio CD DVD Creator 6 Platinum and it does give me the option to record a menu. I tried it last night. Used PhotoShow to make a video. Then I used my other Roxio burning software to make the DVD. I did get an error saying that it may not display corretly on my TV, but I have not checked it yet.

For the most part, it seems that this will work.

Thanks 4 the help
