Disk Drive Does Not Recognize 8.5 Gb Dl Disc

CGRAY

Question

Hopefully someone can help. I have never had to use a 8.5 DL before, but trying to make a movie that is appx 7 GB and picked up some Memorex DVD+R DL'S. When I try to burn project, it says that there is no disk in the drive. I go thru "My Computer", and it does not recognize the disc either. Is there something special I need in order to use these? I have no problem using the smaller DVD's.

Just as a side note, I highly suggest that you purchase another brand of Blank discs. Memorex discs are known to not be very reliable IMPO.

Thanks, the memorex's were the only ones available locally at the time. Earlier, I was unaware that not all dvd drives would support these discs. Thanks for your help

What is your drive, please?

Open Windows Device Manager and click on the '+' alongside the DVD/CD drives icon. The display expand and should show you the drive identifier for each optical drive you have.

What does it show you for yours?
