Copy Dvd Disc Cache Selection Issues

socialgen

Question

File>New Project>Copy>Copy DVD Movies

When attempting to burn a DVD from a hard drive file source location to disc, I get an error message in the disc copier program that reads:

There is not enough disk space available on the hard disk where your selected cache is located. Please select a different cache location using options in Tools Menu, or make more space available in the current hard disk.

I was able to circumvent this problem once by burning the file as a data file to disc. This method worked and the DVD worked in a set top box, so I know that the file size is not too big for the 4.7 g disc. Why am I getting this error message and how do I fix the problem? I went to the tools menu and found nothing that made any difference.

Any advice would be appreciated, as I would prefer to burn DVD's with the DVD copying program not the data.

Thanks

And what is the amount of available space on your local drive? Generally, space equivalent to double the size of the disc is recommended.

Well I was unaware of this and of the fact that my Harddrive only had 3 GB of space on it. What I don't understand though is that I successfully burned through the Creator Data program. Shouldn't the same rules apply there as in the Copy DVD Movies? Never the Less I've cleaned up my drive to have 19 GB of space and now I'll try burning and we'll see.
