My Dvd Asking To Activate Mpeg-2 Codec

rocket_knob

Question

I have recently bought a download of EMC 10 and i have two problems. As the title of the topic says when i try to open MY DVD and also Video Wave it asks me to activate the MPEG-2 codec and when i try to it says that i cant because of a bad installation.

I have read another topic about the same problem and have tried everything people suggested including the 'Clean installation' that everyone seems to think will solve everything, and it still doesn't work.

Does anyone know what i can do to fix my problem?

You need to do a Clean Install - Here

It would appear you have an earlier version (OEM?) that is interfering.

The Clean Install should clear this up and fix the problems you posted in your other thread. However you need to print it out and you must follow every step or you will be right back at the same place… The activate codec is clear evidence that you did not really follow every step of the Clean Install.

One other 'trick'. Assuming you have the install disc, copy the disc contents to a new folder on your HD and install from there. Kind of a shotgun approach but the goal here is to get you up and running!!!
