Can I Do 'multi-sessions' With Creator 2009?

jpeg

Question

What I mean by this is, e.g.; can I make a Data or Audio CD or DVD by burning say 3 files on a Data, and say 22 mp3's on an Audio and then be able to leave it 'open' so that I can come back at another time and add more files or mp3's to these types of CD or DVD's?

Nero let me do that, but now I am trying Roxio. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see want is said about Audio,MP3&Data,multisessions, but how do you do multisessions for Photos and Video on DVD after it is burned once and played.Maybe someone can help me out!

As long as you are burning the Photo files and video files as "Data" disc, you could use mutlisession disc. Disc such as PhotoDisc/DVD-Video donot support Multisessions. Even if you were successful in a creating one, the disc will not be read.

Yes, however…

An Audio CD is an Audio CD and not an MP3 CD… Sessions with Audio CD's will usually fail as there are very, very few Players that can deal with them! As a result, Roxio will not allow sessions on an Audio CD.

Data: Use Creator Classic or from the Home program Data – Burn Data Disc.

With Classic you add files and when you click Burn, clear the checkmark by Read Only.

With Durn Data Disc you click on Options and select the "open" options for CD and/or DVD.

mp3: Well I thought it could but unless I am missing something neither "Burn MP3 CDs" or Music Disc Creator will do sessions… You could treat them as a Data Disc but that would be without a playlist.

Actually DVD Movies do support 'multi session' in a matter of speaking. It is called a DVD+VR project which you can create in MyDVD.

VR's can be loaded back in, edited and re burned.

But it is fraught with problems of compatibility and you will have to look long and hard to fine the few people who use it.

I think the biggest reason is that if you have a MyDVD project it is easier and faster to edit that project and burn a new disc.

I am going to guess that Jake thinks DVD Movies are simply 1's & 0's and can be manipulate like data…

Well they are 1's & 0's and it is technically data but it is in a special format and after an edit must be rendered back into that format. That is why you can't just go on a disc, erase a file and replace it.

You can always create your own playlist prior to burning the disc, then make sure you add the playlist file to the files to be burned.
