Emc10 Fails To Install

Chantillary

Question

I recently upgraded my OS from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate 64 bit and did a clean OS install.

Today i tried to install EMC 10 from my previously downloaded file RoxioEMCSuitev10_4737GA50R05.exe which extracted beautifully until it went to install and started by installing something called Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, which then generated an error message:

Is there any way by which I can actually get the program installed?

First, make sure you backed up the downloaded files. I don't remember if the EMC 10 download version had a separate download for the Content, but if so, back them both up.

Make a folder, on your hard drive, and extract the contents, of the .exe file, to that folder, and run the program from there. You need WinRAR or WinZip to extract the contents.

Also, delete your temp files. It looks like the install was trying to install some other .exe file that may have been left in the temp folder.

I didn't know Roxio installed Virtual PC and don't see that it's installed on any of my systems. I wonder if it's possible it uses it for install purposes (don't know why it would) then removes it when the install is complete. I'm definitely curious.
