cdanteek
AC/DC, one of the most popular rock bands in history, have decided against making their latest album, "Black Ice," available through Apple iTunes. "Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless 'em, it's going to kill music if they're not careful," lead singer Brian Johnson, 61, told Reuters. article...click here..... Beerman
At 61, Johnson is making a bold statement! But, for those AC/DC fans, going to Walmart or Sams isn't new to them so I'll bet it sells even more. Wonder what he's got against Apple?

It seems as though he is against it principally because itunes allows you to just buy songs, and not the whole album. But I know that some have instructed itunes to only make the whole album available for purchase. For example, just try to buy Ace's "How Long" song -- as a single song -- from itunes. You can't -- you need to buy the whole soundtrack for the movie "Invincible."

The movie folks bought the rights for the movie, for them to break up the movie soundtrack and sell singles, itunes knows better than get involved in that! cd
Syrallas
The movie folks bought the rights for the movie, for them to break up the movie soundtrack and sell singles, itunes knows better than get involved in that! cd Hmmm. I'll have to check itunes to see if this is true for all movie soundtracks. But anyway, couldn't AC/DC insist as part of a deal that would allow itunes to sell the album that itunes only sell the whole album (just like whoever has the soundtrack rights to Invincible) and not just individual songs? The problem with Brian Johnson's approach is that it seems to overlook the fact that there are music lovers that simply do not own a cd player. Like fans of the Beatles (though i have heard that the Fab Four may yet come to itunes), a whole group of people -- those who rely on the itunes store for their music -- will be unable to buy Black Ice. He's 61, it's Ace's call, maybe they don't give a s^#t about iTunes and iPods! I am a music lover and managed to live without iTunes and iPods. cd
