Registration Servers Down?

oritpro

Question

I purchased Roxio Creator 2009 from roxio.com as a download, installed it, and when it tries to register I receive an error message that an Internet connection could not be detected. My Internet is working just fine (obviously). I am running Vista 64 SP1, Windows firewall is disabled, and no other software firewalls are installed. I am running Bitdefender AV, and routing through a Linux based firewall on my home network.

The software claims that certain advanced features will be disabled until it can authenticate

So what's the deal, are the registration servers down today?

Try again but this time turn off any pop-up blockers and even disable bit defender for the log-in as it may be blocking it.

Also make sure that the port forwarding on the penguin box is set to allow access. I'm not sure which port is used, but 21, 25 and 80 are common for all machines (ftp, e-mail and internet)

Tcpdump reports that the software registers over port 80 but Roxio's server does not appear to be responding to requests at the moment. I'll try again later. Thanks for the response.
