Browsing Hd For Files Causes Restart

I was having miscellaneous problems with Slideshow Assistant crashing and Sound Editor crashing, and other stuff, so I followed the "Clean Install" directions. Now whenever I open Creator 2009, then open any of the apps, when I go to open a file, add a file or do anything that involves browsing for a file on my hard drive, the computer automatically reboots!

I have a Dell Dimension 530 with an Intel Dual-core Quad processor, 6 GB RAM and Vista Home Premium. What is going on? Help!

Your advanced system settings, startup and recovery, by default 'write a event to the system log' and is automatically set to restart for system failure.

I would look in the system event viewer, under applications and service logs, same path microsoft, windows, restart manager.
