mrs_mg2223
I was forced to purchase the latest program due to the inability to burn DVD's with the new Explorer version on my computer I know have Creator 7.5 on my computer (long overdue for an upgrade) I just purchased 2009 Question- any hints for downloading before I begin? Do I unistall old program ? Will I loose the DVD builder project that I need to burn that is on old program Thanks in advance Note _ I am not a computer savvy person
gi7omy
Personally I'd just uninstall IE7 and install Firefox 3 instead. That will let you continue to use EMC 7.5 without upgrading However, you can install 2009 along with 7.5. I have both here and, whether it's just my system or what I don't know, but all of 7.5 works with the exception of Disc Copy (it goes through all the motions but doesn't actually write to the disc). Projects unfortunately are not transferable - I'd advise you to finish them first before uninstalling 7.5 However, as I said, the easy option is to get rid of Explorer

Will I loose the DVD builder project that I need to burn that is on old program Thanks in advance Note _ I am not a computer savvy person I would suggest that you were not forced to purchase C2009, just like you were not forced to update your IE 6 to IE 7. You do have the option to uninstall IE 7 and let it roll back to IE 6, in which case your EMC 7.5 will work just fine. There are other alternative browsers available that offer features like tabbed browsing if that's what you like. Check out FireFox. I would un-check the box to "Run the program when download complete". Just remember where you downloaded it to and go run it from there when it's finished. You do not have to uninstall the v7.5 if you don't want to. Many of us run multiple versions of the software on the same PC. You will not "lose" you're v7.5 DVD Builder project, but you will not be able to open it in C2009's MyDVD to work on it. they are not compatible with each other. The only way you can complete the project in v7.5 DVD Builder is to remove IE 7 from your computer, then finish the project. mrs_mg2223
Thanks How do I unistall IE7 and install Firfox 3 Because I would like to Burn the existing project to a DVD and then install the new program Thanks Again! I am so blinded when it comes to internet explorer verses firefox. How to I go back to IE6? I was new to the whole DVD burning from video camera and the 7.5 was my first intial purchase and for the past ? years I have used this site periodically and have been amazed at the incredible help that so many have given! gi7omy
To add to what Larry siad, if you installed SP3 for XP, you have to uninstall that first from add/remove, reboot and then remove IE7. You may have to re-install EMC 7.5 again to fix it. To prevent IE7 being automatically installed, MS have a small application to block it, available here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en
grandpabruce
In addition to what others have said, you will need to roll Windows Media Player 11 (if you have it) back to Windows Media Player 10, or quite possibly, 9. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme.../11/readme.aspx
mrs_mg2223
THANKS TO ALL ! I think it may be easier to just download the new program and redo my existing DVD project in the new program. Thanks for all the input you have all covered critical points to successfully complete my old DVD project. However, for someone who is not computer savvy I will just download the new program. Will that be as easy as it was to download the 7.5 version? In addition to what others have said, you will need to roll Windows Media Player 11 (if you have it) back to Windows Media Player 10, or quite possibly, 9. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme.../11/readme.aspx
