Worked Great Until Upgrade - Now Existing Drive Only Sees Cdr.

Allerian

Question

Existing workstation that ran Roxio Easy Media Creator Classic 9 - Dell 390. Ran it well. Burned hundreds of DVDs on this setup with no issues.

Fresh reinstall of XP. Couldn't locate my old Roxio media, so I bought and downloaded a brand new license of Roxio Creator 2009.

Now it only sees one of my two media drives and on that drive (a DVD-R) it will only recognize CDR media. If you put in a DVD the drive just spins and spins.

Thoughts?

1. Does Windows see both the Optical drives?

2. If the answer to #1 is yes, try deleting/uninstalling the drives from Device Manager --> Reboot --> Let the OS detect the drives again

3. Try this

Yes, Windows sees both drives and they work.

I have tried the Device Manager uninstall you're talking about with no results. The drives "reinstalled" fine but still aren't seen by Roxio.

The PX update didn't change anything (and yes, I did reboot).

The burn setup window describes the drive as:

D:TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H49C - DE 02

Meduim not present. Tray closed - Unit not ready.
