Doesn't Recognise Empty Dvd

Masha77

Question

Roxio doesn't recognise an empty DVD (or any other DVD for that matter) at the point that I can put in an empty DVD for burning. I can see that my D-file is empty. When I close Roxio, suddenly my computer dóes show there is an DVD in the D-file. I've tried several DVD's, but there isn't one that's being recognised while Roxio is running. Does anyone have an quick solution? My notebook is brandnew, I use Vista.

Greetings, Masha

I mean I uninstalled the driver for my dvd drive and then re-installed it. Today I plugged in an external DVD writer and creator 2009 doent see that drive either.

More details on the bolded above, please. Can Windows Vista see any drives, or just Roxio don't see the drives?

This is what tech support told me to do and I did:

Thank you for contacting Roxio Technical Support

I'd like you to try running a PX Engine update and firmware update.

Please reinstall the burner's drivers:

* Windows XP: Go to My Computer and choose Properties.

* Windows Vista: Go to Start --> Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Device Manager.

* Click on the Hardware tab.

* Select Device Manager

* Expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, then select your burner and uninstall it by right -clicking on it.

* Reboot.

If you have any drive that ends in ROM there is no need to do anything with it. After you have done this run the pxengine and then restart.

Update PX Engine:

Reboot your computer.

Attempt a burn to a new blank disk
