I previously worked with Media Creator 6, no problems using DVC90, Dazzle Dell Mojhave, Webcam - but on EMC8 as soon as I click for import or capture, the application screen loads, looks at me for a few seconds then closes. If I lift my scanner lid to give an interrupt, Import opens, looks at me and closes straight away. I run XP SP2, Dell 4550 have both USB2s and PCI Firewire and as I said, worked ok with EMC6, Dell Movie Studio (Roxio Videowave by any other name!) and Pinnaccle Studio 9 Quickstart.
Does anybody out there have any clues other than turn away from the screen so that I don't frighten it!
FIXED - reinstalled XP SP2 and all software - works a treat. I guess some application left a registry problem, badly written and along with XP2 spells disaster. I also noted that EMC8 works well with the Pinnacle DVC90 USB analogue capture, (Although I believe this is not Roxio supported), it doesn't preview with sound but captures fine!!
