Fitting Pictures To Match Music

meadow

Question

I apologize if this isn't a "new topic". But, I don't really know what to look for.

I want to make a slide show production in VideoWave using pictures and music. But, I want the pictures to move at the same speed or beat as the music which means that some would move quickly and some slowly, depending on the music. I know about the "Fit Video & Audio..." But that isn't exactly what I want to do. I don't want all the slides and transitions to be the same length.

I don't even know how to begin. I know it can be done because I've seen it in slide shows done by others.

I'd appreciate any help you can give to me.

Thank you.

What you want to do will most likely have to be done manually. You can change the duration of pictures by highlighting the picture in either Storyline or Timeline Views and then click on the little scissors icon and change its duration. I believe there is also a box above the preview window also. To accomplish what you want, you might want to bring your music into the production, listen to it with the slides, and see how long you want each slide to last. If there is better way, I hope someone else can chime in!!

You can cut or transition from one clip or image to the next on the beat of the music if you click on the Edit Volume Envelope for Audio Objects icon where the beats are shown visually. End/Begin the clips and/or photos on the beats to make your production in sync with the music.

Thank you, Rachel, for your reply. I was afraid that the advice you gave me was what I was going get. I guess I was hoping that there would be a simpler, faster way of doing it. Oh well, if that's what I need to do, I do it.

Thanks again.

Hmmm. I'll try that.

Thank you Karri for your reply and advice.

I have been working with the above suggestion in Post #3. I think that I have the idea of what needs to be done. It's still a slow process. But, when I finally finish, it will hopefully be worth the effort.

Thank you again for your help.
