Divx Disc Perian

After installing the Perian 1.1.2 update I can't burn a Divx Disc. When I drop the .avi file on Toast 9.0.4 Toast just hangs with the spinning beachball forever (Quicktime to). I uninstalled Perian 1.1.2 and reinstalled Perian 1.0 and everything is fine again. Is there a problem with the newer plugin ? Has anyone else had this problem or found a fix to this.

Maybe it depends on the specs for the AVI. Have you checked the Perian Forum?

Yeah I.ve checked the Perian forums with no luck. Never had a problem with Toast 9 doing this before. By the way Toast 8 does the same thing to. I will post to the Perian forums and see what comes up.

I have found the Divx Codec used by perian is a more up to date version than what is in Toast and if the divx codec from toast is installed along with perian it causes issues.

 

I found a work around which so far is working for me.

 

I uninstalled the divx plugin from toast and the problem has since gone away.

 

Also do you have any codecs called Xvid in either HD/Library/Quicktime or Home/Library/Quicktime these are known causes of problems.
