A Few Questions On Dvdit Pro Hd

Blink3times

Question

Hi,

I'm not a DVDit owner but I'm seriously considering purchasing... just need a few questions answered if some one could.

I use mostly Sony Vegas Pro for my editing (which comes with DVD Architect) and burn mostly Blu Ray, but DVDa is plagued with little problems that are really beginning to get in the way.

What I need to know mainly are 3 things about DVDit

1) Does anybody know if it will import subtitle files from Sony Vegas (.SUB) or will it at least import subtitle files in .TXT format?

2) DVDa is pretty recompress-happy which drives me crazy. I go to a lot of trouble to calculate my bitrates, and make sure i've got a file that will work on the disk when I import to my burner program. Does DVDit pass your work through easily without recompressing... (at least so long as it is a compliant file that fits on the disk)?

3) of those who are using this program... How do you feel about it? Is it worth the money?

Thanks.

Actually I found my own answer to number one. Vegas uses the same subtitle export system as DVDit requires so one SHOULD be able import a subtitle structure from Vegas.

I really would like to know however what people think of DVDit Pro HD. There is no trial on it so I am quite hesitant on purchasing without knowing how reliable it is. I don't mind blowing 50 or 60 bucks on a program without any prior knowledge but $500 is a different ballgame.

Hi Blink, Dvdit Pro Hd is all I use, fills all my needs, both for dvd and bluray creating, I hope you take my word for this

Life is hard sometimes, the app is so good that they don´t need to have a trial,, I have only found one bug in it and that is a minor one, bugs are in all apps, if you want a perfect sys and have one machine that you can use for only special work, I would recommend XP SP3 and wmp 10 and version 6,3 but this is for very special productions when you are preencodong using other apps, if you runs it as a stand-alone app , the fact is, I haven´t found any bugs .

I'm using 6.4 under xp sp2 and it's working very well for me.

Being a product by sonic solutions, it has a verification tool (runs when you import)

that will only allow spec level files without re-encoding.

I have even gotten warnings of my spec level encoded files being out

of spec, yet when I compile it does not re-encode them. This is kinda

weird, but since it is not re-encoding and the discs work just fine, I can't complain.

This kind of quirkyness is expected at this so early time in blu-ray authoring

at this price level.

The app is definitely worth it and has WAY less problems than Adobe Encore for sure.
