Multiple Video Clips

cossell

Question

New to Creator 2009 or video editing for that matter...... used my digital camera on video mode and taped my daughters basketball game. Each time I hit the record button I started a new video clip. How can I stitch these together to create one video tape?

I think I see the light???

You have 4 clips and you add them one at a time and that creates 4 separate menu selections???

If you select the Add Photo/Video button and select all 4 clips at once they will be combined in one menu button. Actually MyDVD will stop and give you the option to select how you want to insert them.

You use Ctrl-Click to select multiple files.

Good evening! I used yesterday to study the tips given and a bit of the manual. I have solved the separate clips issue and now think I have something wrong with the program. Each video segment plays fine when brought to the media area, but when I insert them into the advanced - videowave - the resulting video is distored horizontally. It's hard to describe, but picture my daughter's basketball game - and the players look like midgets with shoes on. I ended up trying the same videowave portion of the programm with still pictures and found the same problem. Today I uninstalled (had the disks shipped to me) the program and now it won't install back. Did remember to shut off my firewall and virus protection - but had a total of three failed attempts. I guess I call the techs on Monday unless someone has any ideas.

Did continue the project in Windows Movie Maker and the project was easy!!!!!!!! I do like the features that this program offers, but just got off to a rough start apparently.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Signed - Newbee, but determined!

Not sure what you mean by this, could you explain it a little? Have you been able to capture all segments of the game successfully into your pc?

thank you for your response! Checked out the online tutorials yesterday. Yes, the segments all worked fine separately and should have combined fine as well. I went ahead and tried 4 still pictures and still the same malfunction of the program occurred. Finally took the video clips to Microsoft Movie Maker and it worked perfectly. The skills I had been learning the hard way in Roxio made it seem easy in MM. Today I uninstalled and then attempted 3 times to reinstall (firewall and virus off) and had 3 failed attempts. Any ideas next?

The video or pictures came out distorted - daughter's basketball game - like midgets with only heads and shoes - quite weird, but now I'm convinced it is the program - not me. Whew!

If your three previous reinstalls were not via the clean install procedure try that. Also, consider rendering via software rather than hardware (In MyDVD – Tools – Options – Render, Software), and maybe post your pc's specs like you see in the signature of people who post in this board.

Have you tried bringing them into Videowave?

I will try that - but could I ask you another question? I have videotaped my daughter's basketball game and with my camera in video mode - it makes separate videos of each segment. I think I have that figured out, but now the video is divided in four parts up and down - I thought it was the "sport" theme, then tried something else and it still occurs. I've tried in in advanced and automatic - and still the same.

any help? I called tech support and first guy was terrific and the second said up front - that they were NOT a support to teach me how to run the program - just if I was having trouble with the program.

Thanks for your help. I am not NEW to computers and would catch on fast, but frustrated.

Open VideoWave (Edit Video – Advanced) and do this before you do anything else:

File – New Production – Norma(4:3)

That should normalize your midget team…

For install, I agree with Syrallas, follow the Clean Install that he provided the link to.
