Encoding Process Not Working!

cap2587

Question

I am having trouble encoding using My DVD with EMC 10. It is saying that it is complete at 100%, but then I go to find the iso file in my documents and there is no sign of the file. This is a new problem and never had this issue before. It normally saves the Iso file in My documents and then I will burn using Video copy and convert. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Look on C:/ . That is where the default is or you can search for it.

Why don't you reload the project file and check to see where myDVD is saving your iso file

That would be the fastest way.

@ Cap2587: It is best practice to make a folder, somewhere on your hard drive, where you will save all of your producions. Point the software, to that folder, when you burn to an image file, and make sure that you give the image file a distinct name.

That way, you won't have to wonder where the files are.

Thanks for the good advice. I have tried everything you mentioned without any luck. I have never had a problem with locating the iso file I have created. It always goes to documents. I searched the whole computer and no sign of the file. I did the encoding twice and both times it said 100% complete. Is there any of my settings in MY DVD that could have been altered. I just don't think it's making the iso file, despite me doing everything I normally do. Thoughts.

The file does not go to the documents location unless you use it as the default. I always specify the folder where it goes and never have a problem finding it.

Are you sure you are using the iso setting and not the Folder Set ? Just a thought.

I am definitely using the iso setting and not the folder set. I do have the iso file going to documents on purpose as that's where I designated it to go. Don't really understand why all of a sudden this problem is arising. My only explanation I can think of is the Iso file is not encoding properly. Hard to believe though as it is saying it is 100% complete like all the other times I have used this process.

Hoping someone can help me with this issue. This is a continuation to a post I put on the forum a few days ago. I am using EMC 10 to encode my Avi file to an iso File. I have done this many times prior without any problems. I now know that the Iso file is not being created rather than me not being able to find it. The encoding starts off Normalizing the Audio 0%, overall Progress 0%. Then after a few minutes on this it zooms straight to complete 100%. The process usually takes a few hours, now it's taking 5 min and there is no Iso File to be found. I have no idea what I have done with either my computer or some settings to alter this process. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is something wrong with some file in your production. It is not creating the .iso file.

In your project setup, try unchecking the Normalize Audio box, and see if that makes a difference. It shouldn't, but I remember another post, from some time back, where that worked for a person having an encoding problem.

Thanks so much for your help! What you suggested worked and seems like it's encoding like normal. What exactly does Normalizing the Audio do? What about Archiving the photos, is that important. I only checked those 2 boxes as it was recommended in the project settings recommendations.

You're welcome. I hope that the end product works.

I think that the normalize audio makes a lame attempt at making all of sound at the same level. I am not sure. I never have that box checked.

If you use photos, in your production, and you have that box checked, it will burn your photos, to the DVD, in addition to your video production. It takes up more room on the DVD, so if your production gets to me near an hour long, you may just want to archive your photos, using Creator Classic.
