Peculiar
I tried to tag on extra photos to keep all alike together, in doing so I removed unidentified files that had a lot of ???? in the menu title. I din't recognize them, didn't open them, removed them only to discover I had cleaned my disk & only had the five I wanted to add to the total- pictures dating back to March 2008. Is there a way to restore them & re-burn them? I haven't been sucessful in locating them but I really don't know alot about p.c.s. Also I am using an outdated version -Easy Cd Creator 5. I am so sad to lose pics of my kids & garden beginnings etc.- can you help? THANKS FOR ANY EFFORTS! Cherie KCKJSchuman at comcast dot net

Cherie KCKJSchuman at comcast dot net Well, if you can only see your newly added pictures, what probably happened is that you didn't let ECDC import the previous session, so the directory didn't link to it. Basically, the old pictures are still there, you just have to get your computer to read them. In older versions of ECDC, there was a utility called Session Selector that let you access "orphaned" directories. I don't recall now if that existed in version 5 Platinum or not, but take a look for something called "Session Selector". If you can find it, then with your CD in your drive, try to access the next to last session. If you don't find Session Selector, then you'll probably want to try one or another of these recovery utilities: ISOBuster CDRoller CD/DVD Diagnostic I believe all of these utilities have trial versions that you can download for free. They'll tell you what they see on the CD and what they think they can recover, but you'll have to actually pay for the program to make it do any real recovery work. Now, if the files had ??? in the name, then it sounds like maybe the disc was getting hard to read. Again, hopefully one of these utilities can recover your files in a usable form. Hope that helps! I dont have 5 installed anymore but to get to Session Selector in ECDC 5 Platinum go to Start>Programs>ECDC 5>Applications>then select Session Selecter. Brendon
Cherie, I edited your email address so it wasn't machine readable. Many spammers trawl Internet sites to find addresses to spam, so the edit might prevent that. Now, your problem. You haven't been clear on what you've done, so I'm having to do a lot of guessing. Guess: -You had a bunch of photographs on a CD, and you wanted to add some more photos to that CD. -when you opened up the CD you saw what looked like garbage and deleted it. -now you seem to only have the photos you were adding, visible on the CD. If that's the case, I need to know what program you were using to do this. You say you are using Easy CD Creator 5, but which part of ECDC5? There are two systems ECDC5 can use. With the Direct CD system you format a disc before use, and then drag and drop or save files onto it in Windows. It will usually ask you questions about closing the disc when you go to eject it. With the Creator system you use an unformatted disc, and assemble all the files you want to burn in a data project which you reach through the center item of this menu. After assembling all the files you hit a Burn button and burn them all to disc. (1) can you tell me if my guess was right and if it was, (2) which method was used to make the disc ?? Or if the guess wasn't right, could you spell out what has happened ?? Regards, Brendon
