EMC* Audio - Sound Editor Crash

Question

Roxio Sound Editor - EMC 8.05 (latest updates from Roxio).

I have found it to be very beneficial to edit clips on an audio file and lengthen the entire audio. I recently took a Pink Panther theme song from 2:28 to over 4 minutes without so much as a click or a pop. It sounds like one continuos song! I added it the backgropund audio of a slideshow I burned to a DVD. Really rich and great sound.

But to do this, I have found it is critical to "zoom" in on the audio track to determine where exactly to copy and then later to determine where to paste sections of the song. Obviously some songs will work better than others.

Here's what I ran in to tonight. When zooming in on an audio track, it would allow me exactly 6 clicks of "zoom" from the point of view of the entire track (Called "zoom out full").

So, starting from the zoom out full, I can click the zoom exactly 6 times then i get Windows Error Box, "Roxio Sound Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close" and the "Send" "Don't Send" choices to notify Windows. I eventually was able to guess right AND with the help of "fade in" successfully added a clip from the middle of the song to the end and it sounds like a concert version of the song. But, boy o boy, did I struggle. Sound editor closed on me at least 15 times.

I rebooted after the fifth or sixth crash but still got the same result.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Ron
