Burning A Dvd

NO401K

Question

I have successfully burned a MyDVD project to a DVD disk. However, it is not in a format I can play back. It is still in the DMSD format. Also, when I go to burn, the program indicates that there is not enough space for the ISO file on my C rive. I worked around this by using a seperate Western Digital hard drive backup (G drive). Is my burning to a readable DVD format problem related?

I am not sure how you burned the dmsd file to the DVD but you certainly did not create a video DVD. A dmsd file is not a video file at all but simply the project for for your DVD production. It does not contain any video at all but the list of source files used in your production and the instructions to create the menu, etc. To burn your project to the DVD you have to click on the burn button on the menu bar not the Save or Save As (those only save the project files).

You can put your iso file on any drive you want. If you don't even have enough space on your C drive for the iso file, you are in trouble and need to clean up and get rid of junk on the C drive. To do any reasonable video work you should have at least 10GB free on your system drive.

A few steps that one usually takes to burn a DVD---

Open "Videowave" and produce a production and save it as a *.DMSM file (* meaning the name of your choice)

Then Open "MyDVD and import the DMSM file. From there you can edit in many respects, review it and then as Walt has suggested click on the "Burn" Icon. That will produce a DVD that can be played on most all DVD players as well as your computer, assuming you have a program that can play DVD's. Try "Cineplayer") in C2009

Frank..
