Another Emc10 Error

mike1297

Question

This is my first post so please keep that in mind if I forget something important to help me. I have been trying to load Roxio Creator 2009 for the past week and have been reading everybody's posts and trying every possible solution that everybody else has found and it still loads up to the point where I get the load easy creator 10. Does Roxio have any kind of online help or are the message boards the only way we have to fix this? I loaded it on my 3 year olds XP computer and it ran just fine so I know it's a good disk and me having Vista is what is messing me up.

Thanks for reading my post and anybody willing to help me.

I printed out the "Clean install instructions for Creator 2009 on Windows Vista" and followed it line by line and the first time I try to load up Roxio, I get that it's interrupted, so, I try it again, and the 2nd time I get the EMC10 error. I've also tried uninstalling any program that involves creating a dvd or video software and that doesn't seem to be making a difference. Has anybody found any other answers after following the clean install instructions that they also had to do to get it to load the program?

The "hot fix" is specifically for the Can't install Content… must install EMC 10… error message and deletes one Key in the Registry.

That is all it does, run it in some blind hope it will fix anything and you may well muck up the install!

If that is the error you receive during install, then run the fix, and run the Content install.

I am guessing that this is not the error you are seeing now???

So, today I did all the clean install instructions and tried loading it again and get the interupt error, ran the hot fix and get the interupt error, ran the hot fix again and again get the interupt. When I ran it again, not doing the hotfix, I then get the EMC 10 error.

Somebody also wrote to run the .NET Framework Setup cleanup utility but that didn't seem to do anything for me.

Did you download, and install, the hotfix?

Did you download, and install, the hotfix?

Yup, each time I run it, it either says done or cannot find any key to delete.

Might be a dumb question, but after I try to install and it fails, do I need to go thru all the clean install instructions again before I try to re-install? I only ask because the second time it tries to install it doesn't give me the interrupt error.

Why would you expect the Hotfix to work since it has nothing to do with your problem?

Does This describe what you see?

I'm trying anything and everything Jim. Roxio finally sent me an e-mail telling me to run the hotfix as well but it still doesn't work.

I also did a search for the setup file and deleted the 2 that were on my hard drive but that didn't help.

Do I need to go thru the clean install each time it fails before I try to re-install if I find a new possible sollution?

It says that after you install the patch, try installing the software again. That is the route that I would take.
