Blue Flash Inbetween Video Clips

DPrinny

Question

First post

So Ello Ther

(I did a search and found one post about it but it didnt help)

I have noticed that when I have converted my finished video to a avi format that there is sometimes a split second "Blue flash" between clips

Now id try to have a transition but the points where it is I just want it to flick to the next vid

(example http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=it0wSTkkVgg at .33 to .35)

So my question is this -

Is there anyway of ether merging the clips, get rid of the blue flash or change its color so its not as easily seen ?

Thanks for any help

Nope

It puts them to mock me

The vid is made up of self made clips (taken from bits of Thomas the tank engine and AC/DCs rock and roll train)

You know done by splitting bits of it out at the right points

I dont want a transition between them

I just want them to flick from one to the other

(I saw the post about that and tried it but it didnt help)

What computer hardware do you have especially the video card/chip. Where did the two clips come from?

Just to double check, put the video in time line and extend the time line way put so you see only the minimum amount of time on the clips. If you don't do that, you may not see the blip. You may also want to put some of the video on the main track with a colored panel (probably not blue) and then put the other clips on an overlay track. You can overlap the videos so you have both at one time (for a short time.)

I downloaded you Youtube (set to watch at high res, downloaded file 27,014 KB). Converted the ,flv to divx/avi using super, then opened it in Videowave. I noted a couple of places (which may correspond to where you see the blue flash) tha look as in the pic. They were at 31.00 and 35.01, betwen frames showing actual scenes. Maybe they are the cause? Of course, some things may have changed through the conversions, but maybe you could check your original clip frame by frame?

Try Software rendering and try a different transition between the 2 clips.

I did the same as you Jean. I found a single blue frame at 33:02.

Despite what the OP claim, I don't believe YouTube puts in those blips and they are therein his production.

Sorry for a late reasponce (long weekend)

Heres the vid unconverted it should just open in Video wave (use the youtube link to find where they are)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1LPYYVG

I can see gaps but it wont let me move the clips any closer

What youTube link? All I get (other then the ads) is the "link you have slected is unavailable"

Make sure you expand the timeline to zoom all the way in so you can really see what is going on and why the two won't match up. The control is to the right just above the timeline display.

Are you working in Video Wave? Switch to the storyline view to see if there are any extra frames that show up. Are you adding the video on a color panel as a overlay? Perhaps the main video track is longer than what you think so that it continues to play for a split second after your video stops.

Also click on the first track and go to internal tracks to see if anything is there that should not be, continue to the next to see.

I believe someone else had this problem and it was indeed something there that they did not see until they did the above.

Noteice the gap

I have tryed to move everything closer but it wont let me move anything closer

Is there a way to mearge the two clips ?

(they wernt as one before

All the megaupload link gives is the dmsm file which does not contain any video but only the instructions to create a video and the list of source files. You have to upload the video file created by using "Output As"

My mistake

forgot that you also need the clips to veiw it as I am

Nar that one didnt work

But the other way (Put the other vid on the other panel and close it up) works but it is a bit of extra work

(Being able to merge the clips would make a nice thing to have in the next version)

So it did help

Sooooo

What exactly do you mean by "merging" video? If you mean that create a new video from different videos on different tracks, this is eaasily done with Videowave. If you mean "joining" back to back video then this is just as easily done in Videowave. In fact all videos get "joined" when rendered!

Why don't you simply load the video into Videowave, locate the frame where the blue flash occurs (looks like a frame left over from your editing), split the video and then trim the "blue" frame.

Thanks for a reasponce

The only prob is

I have put no blue bits in that vid (lol blue vids on youtube)

I have tried to locate the frame where it is but its not there in the raw unconverted version

I was just wondering if it is possible to stop it from putting those blue flashies in there (or change the color to a different one) as it has done it on a few of my vids

One more thing to try, just to add to the other suggestions:

Try going to View > Timeline > Snap Objects (There is also an icon for it down in the row of icons over the Production Editor).

With Snap Objects enabled, try to "snap" the one clip to the one before it. You will know it is ready to "snap" when the red vertical line appears between them. Drag the clip and drop it when you notice the red line appears. It should put your second clip right next to the previous one.

Just to help trouble shoot, split off a minimum amount from the end of the first clip. It should only be a few frames. Go to storyline view and delete that splitsection. Does it match up now?

Did you see anythng else in storyline that isn't supposed to be there? Are you going to try some of my other suggestions (internal tracks, etc.)

You will not lose those frames as long as you undo the change or do not save it with the same name as the original.

Is the blue frame there in the video clip before you upload it to YouTube?

Exactly where do you first see the blue frame? How did you assemble the video?
