All Dual Layer Dvd's Failed With Crc Errors

poutine

Question

:(

Hello.

I have gone through a whole box of DVD+R DL disks , replaced my Pioneer DVR-115 with A Sony V200S DVDRAM Drive and all my Dual Layer disks all fail with the dreaded CRC errors.

I am using Creator 2009 of course and have tried burning at 2X and 8 X but they all fail. They burn ok but none will play back and none can be copied to Hard Disk... they just all spin and crash with CRC. Now my DVD+R media wasnt the most expensive but lots of people have had good success with them. But me none.

Is Creator 2009 to blame for the CRC or my Mirror DVD+R DL disks ? I use them to make backup copies of my Bought PC Games. But so far no go.

hope you can help me. Thank you.

I'd dump the junk and get some Verbatim DVD+R DL discs.

I would blame the Mirrir Disc's...

What tool are you using to check CRC Errors? Does it have a Disc identifier tool, listing Manufacturer: MID, like below?

If not download the small free program #1 in my signature and post the Manufacturer: MID, it lists.

Thank you all

Ok cdanteek here is the disk info you wanted to see. I wont be offended if you say " OMG they are crap" coz they werent expensive DL disks. ;)

Let me know what you think, and if you think its the cause of my CRC errors. It cant be the Drives i know that much. Oh and DVD-R DVD+R and DVDRW etc ( all verbatim) all behave fine.

25 for $14.99? Fake MID's.

Read through this post especially # 7 and # 10, click here

So you think my Mirror DVD+R DL Disks are fake then ? Is that why none of them worked ? They all burnt ok but did bugger all after

Threy cost me £5 for 10. In the UK. I can get Verbatim 10 pack ( made in Japan) for £11. Do you think thatll fix all my woes ?

Thanks.

Try one Verbatim 10 pack and burn at 2.4x or 4x. If the first one fails come back and we'll revisit this, things like your burner ID and firmware version.

I dont think there are any firmware updates for my Sony V200S , i tried a Pioneer and a Samsung and two LGs all CRC'd with these **** disks. :) All played well with verbatim disks.

But not the Mirror. Cheap is not good in DVD land. Im prety sure after 5 burners its the disks.

Just to put my mind at rest......... whats Creator 2009's track record like with burning Dual Layer Disks in general ?

Thank you.

I use Verbatim for all my other burning needs - CD-R DVD-R RW etc.. but i gave the cheap DL disks a shot and regretted it.

But i would like to say that i got some Verbatim DVD+R DL disks , and the very first one i used burnt a backup game disk for me succesfully , and im delighted. :)

Sometimes ( esp with disks) cheaper does NOT pay !

Thank you all so much.
