Sudden Distortion While Ripping Streaming Audio From The Internet.

HB_Dad

Question

I bought Toast 9 primarily to record streaming audio for the internet and for the ability to edit audio files like I could with Easy CD Creator's Sound Editor back when I used a PC. However, I have run into major issues here. When I record from a MySpace music page, all is fine until about 3 minutes into the song where suddenly the volume apparently increases for no apparent reason and causes distortion. This even occurs when I turn the audio way down on the MySpace Music player. The rest of the audio is flawless, but I am at a point now where I don't trust Toast to get me a good recording. Is there a solution to this?

i can tell you this. do not waste your time emailing support. they have never admitted to me they know about or are trying to fix this problem even after i told them a lot of people on the discussion page had the same issue and they should easily recognize my problem. they just kept giving me the same story they give everyone. the service ticket, also waste of time, response time for me on the last one, 12 days and counting. i have tried everything possible. there is a streaming audio recorder you can trial for 30 days and buy for $20. i have been using this and it works. wish i had known before i spent $100.

I, too, have encountered problems using this feature in Spin Doctor. Roxio is working on a fix.

Could you point me to any documentation of Roxio acknowledging this issue? I must say Roxio has been pretty disappointing about responding to issues and/or criticism in the past.

I received a personal email stating that the update for Spin Doctor was not ready when Toast 9.0.4 was done. Thankfully Roxio did not hold off the release of 9.0.4 any longer. The Spin Doctor update to deal with the streaming capture is still in beta.
