Can only hear first 10 tracks....

Question

After burning a music CD,using EMC 7, only the first ten songs will play after that the others have static and skip. I have tried numerous other blank CD-R to no avail. Any ideas what's up all of a sudden. I used to be able to create full CDs with no problems. Being of an advanced age, I can't seem to figure it out on my own! :) Thanks everyone for your help.

It could be that you are developing a problem with the tracking of the CD drive in your computer.Do you only have 1 drive? How old is it?You could try one of those laser cleaners but it sounds more like it's having a problem once it gets to a certain point on the disc.It might just be time to get a new drive.

A 5 year old burner is not old. It is ancient. You find someone to show you how to change out burners, and you will find out how easy it is. You will never have to ask them again, and you will feel a great amount of self satisfaction when you do it on your own. Go for it. You can do it.

What kind of songs did you burn ? Minutes wise or how large ? What kind of media did you use to burn the songs on ? Some songs or audio files can get to be 40 to 50 MB in size depending on how long they are and especially if they are "wav" files, which are larger than MP3 files that are compressed somewhat.

Even if you were burning wav audio files on a CD-r 700MB disc, you could get more than 10 files on a disk.

I certainlt agree with getting a new burner, especially if the one you have is 5 years old. My, that's really old. What kind of computer do you have (make and model) and is it 5 years old too ?

Bruce is right---Go for it !!! I am older than dirt and if I can do it you certainly can :)
