Blank Or Rewritable

hello hope someone can help me, I have Windows XP, and Lightscribe 22X DVD burner, when I go to burn something I get a box with this "Please insert a blank or rewirtable CD into the HL-DT-ST DVDRW DL (E:) Drive supported media: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, DVD RAM". I have bought DVD-R's, DVD+R's, DVD-RW's, and its getting expensive. Place in tray and click , it eject and get box again, will not aacept the disks? Can anyone help?

That sounds more like a drive problem in that it isn't recognising the discs - what actual version of the program are you running? (there were two 'red box' variants - one marked Vista Compatable and the other wasn't)

Its "Easy CD & DVD" but I threw the box away here the infor...

If I have my numbers right, that is pre-Vista version but that only means it would need the DLA patch to use with Vista.

 

As Daithi mentioned, the problem stems from your Drive telling the program it is empty or doesn't recognize the inserted disc.

 

Of course V9 is a Suite and you did not mention which program within the Suite you are using.

 

I would think you would want to check with the Drive manufacture to see if there is a firmware update to the drive.

The V.9.0.55 is the Vista compatible Version.

 

The oldaer one starts with a 6.

 

But that doesn't address the drive problem.

My notes indicate that the patched version would be listed as 905B26B.ENU.R01 (D2D32_805)

 

There are 2 versions of the V9 Red Box.
