Burning From Eyetv

Dan

Question

Hello,

I am running the most recent update to T9 with Mac 10.5.5 and would like to burn multiple programs from EyeTV. When I highlight the programs and click on the Toast button it takes me to Toast but I cannot see a way of having toast compress the programs to fit on a single 4.7GB disc when the combined size is greater than this. Am I missing something obvious or is this not possible. Seems a bit odd that it would not be possible.

Thanks,

Dan

I thought that would be the case. I gave that a go and it works fine, but I did think that this may be done in one step. Just getting lazy in my old age I suppose...or maybe its intolerant. Anyhow, thanks for the info.

It can be done in one step if you choose Always Re-encode in the custom encoder settings window. But it is faster and the quality is a little better if you use the Fit-to-DVD method.

Choose Save as Disc Image instead of clicking the burn button. When that is finished select the disc image file using the Image File setting in the Copy window and click the burn button. If the disc image is too large to fit a single-layer disc Toast will ask if you want to burn to a single-layer or dual-layer disc. Choose single layer and Toast will do the additional compression at that time.

Make sure Fit-to-DVD is checked in the lower left of the Copy window.
