cte67
Whenever I boot, I get a message that Drag to Disc has files waiting to be burned to a CD. How do I cancel this so it no longer displays this message when I boot?
cte67
The message is that I have files waiting to be written to a CD ... click balloon for details ... which when clicked opens a Windows Explorer which displays a file to be written. I have disabled the Drag-to-Disc, but the message still shows up when I boot. I have opened the options on the Drag-to-Disc ... don't see any choices for stopping the attempt to write to a CD. That has little to do with Drag 2 Disc. That is an XP error/message. There should be a cancel in XP. Here is more information.

Then, as I said in my other post, it is the Windows burning software that is waiting for you to burn to disc. You did not use any Roxio software to set up the burn. Brendon
If you open the window to see what the files are, you'll see a bunch of links to files. These are like shortcuts, except the arrow points down instead of diagonally up. Highlight all these links [Ctrl-A] and delete them, and Windows will think you've finished the job and stop[ bothering you. Only the links get deleted. You're not endangering the files they are pointing to.
Richard Fdisk.exe
small mousing errors can cause this problem also (they can happen so quickly) ie. 1> a batch of files or single file is selected in Windows Exploder a> unintentionally right click and select "send to..." CD / DVD RW drive or b> unintentionally mouse drag on to the CD / DVD RW drive in the folder pane or c> unintentionally right clicking the CD / DVD RW drive and selecting "write these files to CD" once you have the current issue dealt with, do this to prevent it from ever happening again; > right click the CD / DVD RW drive in Windows Exploder or in a My Computer window > select properties from the popup context menu > select the recording tab > clear the check box "Enable CD recording on this drive" if more than one RW drive repeat for each CD / DVD RW drive in the system this will disable the Windows built in CD burning all of those places & selections disappear from the context menus when the windows util. is disabled for all CD / DVD RW drive(s) * (these are XP instructions, I don't have and won't have Vista) cheers

How do I cancel this so it no longer displays this message when I boot? Does it actually say Drag to Disc? That is a message that you will get, if you are burning to a CD, using the native Windows software. If it is actually Drag to Disc, disable D2D. What happens if you click OK, or whatever shows in the message?
