Smartsound Issue With Creator 2009 Ultimate

lbogardus

Question

I purchased 2009 Creator Ultimate and have been using Smartsound to add music to my productions. When I select tracks that I own and try to insert into a video I get a prompt to insert the disc that has that song on it. Some of the discs "CD songs" are partially installed but when I try to put the content CD in it does not recognize or find the song that I'm trying to import. If I do a preview of the song it seems to work fine, I just cannot import. Anyone else have this problem ? Smartsound really seems like a decent program to import music.

I think you have the wrong impression of what SmartSound does. It does NOT IMPORT music from a CD. SmartSound 'creates' music on-the-fly that can match the length of your project (or clip) exactly. You can go to www.smartsound.com for more information and additional music tracks. Since you have the Ulitmate edition, Soncfire is a SmartSound application that will allow you to customize those sound tracks.

Gary,

Maybe I have not explained this correctly. After installing this software from "Creator 2009 Ultimate" and running "Express Track"you have the option to select what music you own, "Owned Titles". The music will play but it will not let you insert into your video unless you install a disc. ie. CD, DVD etc. When I try to install the content disc that came with Ultimate, it does not find what it is looking for. Hopefully someone that has purchased the Ultimate version might have an answer to this. Thank you very much for helping with this, there is probably something very simple that I'm missing.

I own Creator 2009 Ultimate and don't recall anything like 'Express Track'. If you 'explore' the Content disc, there shodl be a folder called 'smartsound_10'. There are two executable files. I think you can run those independently of the C2009 installer. 'Newstandard_22k.exe' is the file that installs the sound files, but make sure that SmartSound is installed first.

Those "Owned Titles" are titles you BUY from the Smart Sound site. They are not audio files that you have on your computer or CD. If you want to use your own music, you need to use Media Selector. Assuming that you are using Video Wave or one of the less functional "Assistants."

Perhaps you have this checked?
