Creator Suite 9.1 Update - Problems With Download

mindy01

Question

Hi,

I have downloaded the 9.1 update but when I click to run I get the following message:

"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of this file, verify it's integrity, and try again."

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mindy01

Google Chrome did the trick it seems, I got the whole file downloaded and it began the setup process. But now I get an error message saying "setup cannot find a valid version of this software to upgrade. Please make sure that you are using the correct upgrade version."

This brings me back to the original reason for me downloading the 9.1 upgrade. I did a system restore about a week ago and since then when I try to double-click on the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 icon nothing happens. Nothing happens when I also go in and try to open any type of Roxio program from Program Files. Basically nothing will launch. That's why I thought I'd download this 9.1 update in the hopes it would fix the issue. But now it seems to not even find my EMC9 program to upgrade.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get EMC9 to launch?

Thanks again.

Thanks for your thoughts firenhancer. The problem is that I have EMC 9 installed from a download, but I lost the actual download file a while back. So I have no way to reinstall. I thought the Roxio website would allow me to download the orginal EMC9 that I had bought but I can't find it anywhere under my account. I wasn't sure if I had EMC9 Suite or Deluxe so I tried downloading both of them for the 9.1 update but they both give the same error of "not software found."

Oh well that puts you in a tight situation. Generally when purchasing downloadable product, it is always worth ordering a backup disc and don't let your money go in a drain in scenarios such as this. Since every company has different policy for re-downloads, I can only suggest to consider upgrading to Creator 2009 as well giving Roxio a call and find out what are your options.

Hi Mindy,

It's saying that the download file didn't make it down properly and you need to get another copy.

What's the name of the file you have downloaded??

If it's the Suite RoxioEMCSuitev9.1Updater_1Z26OZS0RU3.exe it should be 671,412,140 bytes when you look at its properties.

The Deluxe one, RoxioEMCSuitev9.1Update_1Z26OZS0RU4.exe should be 684,569,343 bytes

Differences from those sizes would indicate the file has been corrupted as you got it, or its tail has been chopped off.

A download manager program is very handy when getting down big files like this.

Brendon

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded both because I'm not sure which version of EMCSuite9 I have. When I try to double click on the icon nothing happens. Same when I try to launch out of Program Files, nothing opens. I had to do a system restore this week and it stopped working after that. So I thought downloading the 9.1 update might fix things for me.

So I have both update files on my hard drive and here's what it says under Properties for each one:

U3.exe - Size: 640 MB (671,409,967 bytes)

Size on disk: 640 MB (671,412,224 bytes)

U4.exe - Size: 652 MB (684,569,240 bytes)

Size: 652 MB (684,572,672 bytes)

Looks like they are getting cut off? Do you have any suggestions for a download manager program?

Thanks!

Hi,

I used "downthemall" with Firefox and downloaded the U3 EMC9.1 Suite file. Here's what it says under properties:

Size 640 MB (671,411,970 bytes)

Size on Disk 640 MB (671,412,224 bytes)

I just tried to launch it and I'm getting the same error message that I got on my original post. Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
