johnmark
My original version of DVDit Pro HD worked for about 8 months. Then I think Quicktime changed and it stopped working. I got the upgrade and it doesn't produce .iso files. I got AvidDVD and it doesn't make them either. When the problem started I was on Avid Express Pro HD with DVDit Pro HD I am now on Avid Media Composer with two versions of DVDit The Avid one and the Roxio one. I can't get the version 4 authorized over the internet. Its really frustrating and timeconsuming.
rexdigital
Is there a step by step procedure in the Roxio Documentation anywhere? I was told by Roxio people that DVDit ProHD 6.4 would NOT burn from a .gi file. Burn, Write Disc Image and choose the .gi image from the drop down. then Burn, Burn disc, Disc Image file, Browse, choose .gi from drop down. rexdigital
The case seems to be that Sonic Dvdit Pro HD version 6,3 and version 6,4 creates iso files as images when burning to bluray image whilst the version of Avid Dvd 6,4 is somehow restricted in usage and is creating gi files when exporting to bluray image. For exporting to dvd images , both apps creates iso files . No. 6.4 creates .gi files if you build an image. you have to change the drop down. BigMac
JohnMark, Yes, it's true that version 6.4 no longer makes .iso files. It makes a multitude of files with a different extension when you choose the iso option. That's why I quit using it...I make a volume and just use it...no problems. johnmark
Thanks for the reply. That is really really strange. The option "make disk image" Is still in the list. I can't find the instructions how to use it in the DVDit Help files.
mjolnarn
No. 6.4 creates .gi files if you build an image. you have to change the drop down. This is the answer i got from a user at the Avid forum, this all seems to be a big mess, I am very happy with my Sonic Dvd Hd 6,3 version and my version of Avid Dvd 6,4 I propably will be putting in a drawer. " Tomas, my ver (6.4) of DVDit creates an .iso. " The entire Avid thread is here.
rexdigital
The Global Image .GI it creates are just as good as .iso although a lot of apps can't burn .gi images which kinda sucks. you have to build the .gi image, then burn it from DVDitproHD with the burn image option. All the Blu-Rays I make are done this way and it works well.
