Mydvd (roxio Creator V.10 And V.2009)

Question

I'm using MyDVD and use the following to create a DVD photo slides. I use Cinemagic because the Photoslide show settings does not allow changes to the transitions and adding text.

1. Using MyDVD

2. Add Video/Photo

3. Highlight all photos

4. The bottom counter shows a duration of 11:15 minutes

5. I set the duration per picture to 9 sec

6. The duration of the slide show to 20 minutes

7. The preview gives me a duration of 14:14:03

8. Click on finish and then save production.

9. If I exit MyDVD and exit Roxio Creator and then invoke the Roxio Creator again, the Production length

is set to 6:11.

My question is "How can I keep that setting of 14:14:03 to stay put?"

Is there another way to compile pictures in a video that would still allow me to edit the transitions and add text?

Thanks,

Jayjaytoo

Wasn't there something about slideshow times not being saved in MyDVD???

In any case JJ is not using the programs 'correctly', as Walt pointed out.

VideoWave is the Editor where you do all the work and setup.

MyDVD is the Authoring program to create user interface and burn to disc.

Good stuff under Tips & Tricks.

Like Walt and Jim said, VideoWave is the right application for creating slideshows. If you want to use the assistants, however, I think CineMagic will edit the time as it thinks will showcase you images/video the best. The Slideshow Assistant should let you add text, blank panels, etc. You can set the transition duration, that will remain the same duration for each one in the production, but then you have the option to open the slideshow in VideoWave, where you can further edit and tweak your production. Then, use MyDVD as suggested above to author your DVD.

The application to use for creating slideshows (and videos) is Videowave. myDVD is more for creating menus and burning. The various wizards avaliable (such as Slideshow assistant) are very simple programs for creating quick and easy production which usually have all sortts or limitations and restrictions.

What do you mean by the "bottom counter"? Is that the time given above the wheel in the preview window. That show the location of the cursor on the timeline and will only give the timelength if the cursor is at the end of the timeline.

How do you go about setting the slideshow length to 20 minutes?

You will have to be more accurate in describing exactly what you are doing and what part of the "screen" you are referring to
