(I purchased it online from Roxio) on 11-15-08 I am trying to create a slide show with transitions (fades, wipes etc) and burn it to DVD, I have done it with Easy Media Creator 9 on my laptop with no problems but now I am lost. I am currently using my laptop for design work while my desktop is tied up on this project. Thank you in advance with your assistance.
gi7omy
"Audio/video: The SR5510F features the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics card with TurboCache and 128MB of dedicated video memory, an addition to the main system memory, with a total of 831MB available graphics memory. This is great for games or watching movies and videos. The high definition audio capabilities will support up to six speakers for realistic reproduction of your music and soundtracks. " That's almost certainly where the problem lies - the machine is incapable of hardware rendering with those graphics and would need a dedicated graphics card. You are almost certainly using software rendering and with that you do lose transitions
Ken The Designer
Make sure you have your antivirus off when you install the program. Are you installing it to your system drive? Have you looked on your c:/ drive in the Programs/Roxio/2009 folder to see if you can find the content folder? The content folder on my computer is located in "C:\Program Files\Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate\VideoUI 11". Yours should be somewhere close to that. It is installed on the C drive, "systems drive" I just looked and the content folder is right were you said it would be and listed in that is: Audio, Buttons, DVD, Images, Ovelays, Textures, Video. Should I see anything else? And yes I did shut off my antivirus and also diabled windows defender, during the clean installs. Thank you for the tips, but I am still not getting anywhere. Do you see anything? There should be a drop down box, at the top. It defaults to All. Yes I did install the content and had the virus software and windows defender disabled during the 3 clean installs.
ggrussell
Sounds like the files are getting installed, but something is corrupting the registry. Are you using a reg cleaner?

On my other system in is just a laptop 1. ghz with only 1.5 gigs of ram and only 120gb internal hard drive and shared video memory and it can do it in Creator 9. It is running XP SP2. I think it a software issue that is not finding the transitions. Thanx again, any other ideas?

Are you saying that in MyDVD, if you click on Tools/Options, you don't see Software and Hardware options, below Render Using? If your machine is set to Software, then you aren't going to see any 3-D transitions. Edit: I meant to say VideoWave, because that is where you should be making your productions. ggrussell
Not necessarily. Some reg editors do more harm than good. That's the reason I asked. I do sometimes use a reg cleaner after uninstalling an application, but I still try to be very careful on what gets removed. I never use a reg cleaner in auto mode. I found a runaround but it's very time consuming. I created a show wih 243 small images and applied a transion theme of random then I am now deleting the transitions I do not want and then I will replace the panels with the images I need and then copy and paste the transistions where I need them. Then delete all extra images and transions. It's a long way to go but I can't see any other way to do it. Thanks again for your help if you have any ideas to fix the transistion and effects selector I would be very appreciative.

This KB artice is about missing transistion; it s for EMC 7/7.5 but perhaps it works for C2009? Instead of deleting the folder they talk about you could just rename it and if it doesn't work restore the name
