Toast Does Not Report Correct Remaining Time

withnail

Question

Whilst burning a CD or DVD the "remaining" time status always starts at the lowest possibility and does not correct itself depending on the burning speed. Thus the time remaining reported is always incorrect.

Any ideas?

Running Mac OS 10.5.5 on a Powerbook G4/1.33GHz using an external enclosure with a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-115D via Firewire for burning. Same issue happens with the built-in Panasonic/MaSH!Ta UJ-825 DVD drive. EDIT: Actually, time remaining is reported correctly for the internal DVD drive.

Your other post about verification errors also involved the external drive. I suggest downloading and applying the 10.5.5 combined system update from Apple. The often are times when incremental system updates cause strange USB and/or Firewire issues that are resolved by applying the combined system updater.
