Ttg Takes Five Hours To Generate Vid For Toast; Then Crashes

tnhybrid

Question

Unbelievable. WHY any program takes FIVE HOURS to render four gigs' worth of material for burn to a Toast DVD is just beyond me.

Then, of course, the burn starts and the thing runs into a 'sense error' and quits. Which means you just wasted five hours of your machine being tied up, preventing you from doing other productive work or chores.

Except, in my case, it's TEN hours, since I figured maybe there was just some config error which I might be able to fix on a second try.

AGGGGGH! This is so infuriating! Then, I go to log in here to get some answers, AND:

They can't even get their free support forum to run properly....it took about 15 minutes of server hangs, but I finally got in.

Thanks a lot, Roxio. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of your encoded, proprietary files on my desktop with no way to convert them to some other format I can burn onto DVD with an application that actually, you know, works.

And before folks start in on some problem with MacBookPro DVD recorders: This thing works *flawlessly* with any other project I throw at it.

What a waste of $59 I spent tonight to upgrade to version 9. Ptui.
