white1p
Here is my experience of installing Roxio Creator on Vista Ultimate 64 bit. First attempt: - Logged into PC as myself (member of Adminstrators Group) - Downloaded software and set to install immediately - Install failed with error 000D Second attempt: - Logged into PC as Administrator - On advice from Roxio Support switched of all startup programs (run MSCONFIG and disable all programs on startup tab) - Downloaded software again and set to install immediately - Program downloaded OK and ran through initial set-up steps - After initial setup steps complete the install appears to hang ..... - ........, but I could see hard disk activity and after at least 30-45 mins the install completed successfully! What worked for me therefore was: - Being logged on as Administrator - Stopping all startup programs (remember to re-eenable after the installation completes) - Downloading and installing immediately - Being very patient when the install appears to hang. Hopefully my experience will help someone else. Good luck. Paul
Beerman
Seems like the hardest part is patience. Thanks for sharing. The 64bit systems have proven to be problematic for many types of software but I think things are slowly changing.
mik3carp
Your experience did help someone else. Thank you so much for posting it. Sounds like I avoided many hours of grief. On my first attempt to install on my Vista 64 bit laptop the installation appeared to hang, with the DVD drive making an unusual sound. I stopped it, uninstalled what I could and started again. In the meantime I came across your post. So when the apparent hang and strange sound occured again, I waited, and waited and waited, yes maybe 30-40 minutes or so. Then all of a sudden silence. When I looked at the monitor, success! Thanks again. Mike Here is my experience of installing Roxio Creator on Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
