Adding Data Without Read Only Attribute

I am trying to add data files to a rewritable disc and when I do this, the files are readonly. the files are created with msword2007 and the properties before transferring them to disc are not readonly, as a matter of fact there are no noticeable file attributes before the transfer. When the transfer is completed the files are read only and I need them to be accessible and be enabled to be edited by others on their computers. Please help.

All files on CD and/or DVD are always read only. If you want to edit them you first have to copy them to your hard drive.
