I have been successfully making BluRay projects with DVDitProHD ( 6.31 build 04a) since March `06 and playing them on a Sony BDP-S1. That player was outputting HDMI to my Sharp Aquos and Optical to a 5.1 receiver for sound.
Recently I upgraded to a PS3 as a player connected as the BDP-S1 was. The same discs that played flawlessly before now do something odd when a stream is finished and it returns to the menu. All menus are “infinite stills” with no audio. When returning to the menu I get a brief error message on screen saying something like “unsupported audio format detected, check your source”. The video was from HDV so audio is always Dolby Stereo, never LPCM or anything more exotic.
The PS3 setup doc says that only one audio output will be supported so if you opt for optical out, there should be no audio out to HDMI….the only thing the screen is connected to. There have been many posts on the DVDitProHD board about the audio output cutting off 3 seconds before the video.
- Do you suppose the PS3 is mishandling this absence and squirting something else when so confused?
- Is there a fix for the early cutoff that is later than my build?
