No Video Menu

Question

Hi,

When I bought my computer last year I had a version 09 installed. But I could not burn videos, only data and music. Soin the video menu, I clicked and upgrade, and paid for the 2009 version. I still can't burn videos ( what's the point of the upgrade if nothing changes except the background color?). When I click on the video menu the only option is watch a video, not really useful... Is there anything I could do to be able to burn a video dvd?

thanks

Thank you!

( I had the vista menu, changed the appearance, and managed to get to applications)

So I do not have MyDVD in my applications.... I guess it explains a lot! I only have back on track and cineplayer.

That would seem to indicate you need to do the Clean Install.

Honestly, I don't think any of us have seen or heard of a partial install happening… Please keep us informed.

So I will try and be clearer:

When I open Creator 2008 , there is a menu on the left:

Home

Data/ Copy

Video/Movies

Music/ audio ( this is an attempted translation from French)

Apparently when you click on the video menu you are supposed to have:

Import

capture video

plug and burn

Create

create dvds

create dvds advanced

create labels

Edit and Transfer

edit video automatically

edit video advanced

drag and drop convert

copy and convert dvd-video

Enjoy

play movies

browse and manage media

browse and manage media

share video

But when I do that I only have Enjoy- play movie ....

For the moment, ignore Roxio Home application. As Jim pointed out above, click on the START button, Programs, Roxio Creator 2009, Applications, MyDVD

Check to see what Applications you have listed under Applications. If you don't have 10 apps listed, you may have to do a clean install.

First of all, thank you to you both for helping me...

I hadn't understood

Start – All Programs – Roxio Creator 2009 – Applications – MyDVD were isntructions... ( let's say it's the language barrier - I am French  )

And of course When I go to Roxio Creator 2009 in the program file, I can't find Applications. I have:

5.0

Certificates

Commons

Roxio Central 4

I guess I am not going where I am supposed to...

I had a partial install right after a failed install. Following the clean install solved that problem but I has to make sure that I followed the directions exactly and entirely.

Note that some files may not uninstall because they are in use. Move them to your desktop, after the procedure is compled, reboot and then deleted those files; since they are not where the program expects thewm, they will uninstall (delete) easily.
