ggrussell
Camera RCA jack to the Roxio input video usb device. I see video on the videowave screen. Status: No Signal I can see people walking around on the screen. the STATUS: NO SIGNAL. Sounds more like a driver problem. I would try uninstalling the Roxio USB device driver , reboot and then reinstall it.
Outlans
Sounds more like a driver problem. I would try uninstalling the Roxio USB device driver , reboot and then reinstall it. Yes I tried that too. uninstall and reinstall. I have tried roxio 2009 on 2 computers so far. it’s strange thing that only the B&W security cams will not show a signal in the status. The TV tuner is working. I can record video. VCR is working. B&W security cams will not work. I can record anything off my TV tuner. But my security cams I get “Status No Signal”. I really would like to get my security cameras to work.............. This is nuts..... I found that a strange thing happens when I install roxio on the new computer. I use AOL 9.1 software. After installing the roxio software on the new computer. When I read my mail in the AOL 9.1 program I am getting a strange Ding. I uninstalled roxio and the strange Ding or error ding stayed. So now I have to change my sounds and delete my windows ding. I don’t think roxio 2009 was ready to be released for Vista. Ok I have one more computer with AOL 9.1, I am not getting a Error Ding. I am going to install roxio 2009 in that computer. If I start getting that annoying error ding when I click on my mail I will be pissed off to no end. And I think roxio should pay me for the time to uninstall the OS, format my hard drives just to get rid of the Stupid ding in my AOL mail. And that’s 3 computers I will have to reinstall the OS in………. The only way to prove it's coming from roxio 2009 is to install it in the 3rd computer............. And thats just what I am going to do..........
Outlans
My TV tuner is working. I can record video but when I hooked it to the security camera the status: No Signal. But you know, I see a good video and sound from the security cam on the capture screen. I have tried different setting in the Options menu. Well, all of them so far with on luck. I was thinking that SECAM_? should mean security camera. in the Options menu. gi7omy
I asked earlier and you haven't replied to this point Does Movie Maker capture the video from the security cameras? That is something that needs to be found out before diving down on one app - basically, does Vista allow it in and how does it do it
jmertz
I am seeing the same issue that Outlans is seeing. I've gone through the How to- Tips and Tricks. When I play the video I see it just fine running on the computer in Roxio Media Input application. When I attempt to capture I get only 1 or 2 seconds of video, then the applications says No SIgnal and stops the capture. Meanwhile I see the movie running fine the whole time on the computer screen. I am trying to capture from an Emerson DVD/VCR combo trying to convert my old family videos to DVD. Using RCA (Red/White/Yellow) inputs. Running Windows Vista. It sounds like I have tried everything that Outlans has with the same results. I have not found any updated drivers. Anyone got a link where they can be found? Other suggestions would be welcome too. Thanks.
Jim_Hardin
ok, Inport from digital video camera. I get a message that reads. "Inport Video could not find a compatible digital video device. Verify that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on." I guess windows can not see the roxio video capture usb..... Outlans: Did you look through the Tips & Tricks Topic about the Roxio Capture device? http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=43928 You want to pay close attention to the portion concerning hardware manager and drivers. The device will show up in any capture program if it is plugged into the PC even with nothing attached to it! jmertz
Played with it a bit more and discovered that I only see this when trying to capture a video that has no sound. The VCR tape I was trying to capture was footage of my son's ultrasound before he was born and it has no sound. So I tried other tapes with sound and the all appeared to work fine. Any idea on how I can capture video that has no sound without getting "No Signal" problems. Is there a setting to capture video only that I haven't found yet? This may also be relevant to what Outlans is seeing if his cameras are video only with no sound.

It appears that that is what is wrong with yours. Contact Roxio, directly, and see if they can e-mail the drivers to you. Roxio would be best served, if they posted them in their updates section, on their main website and also post them in these forums.

No it doesn't work that way… I can capture just fine with the Audio plugs disconnected or connected and then unplugged during capture. Nothing in the Audio will cause a lose of signal.
