How Do I Split Scenes When Editing A Movie

I am able to split scenes when I for example trim out a commercial but what if I want to split scene just to split it...is there a way to do that

What exactly do you want to accomplish? Maybe describe how you want your final output to differ from the original work.

In Timeline mode, place the blueline where you want and hit the split icon. That's it. You can then move those pieces around, reorder them or add a transition between them.
