Capture Not Functioning

Michael D 2008

Question

I have just purchased Music lab 10, my intent was to capture radio from the internet, functionality that is listed in the Key features section on the box, however... When I select "File/Import Audio", nothing happens. Also, I have spent a long time trying to research this and there does not seem to be a lot of information published on this.

I have a new computer runing windows vista.

What do I do, or how do I get a refund?

The trick to capturing streaming audio in Vista is if your Sound Card presents an input to the software that will actually work.

This is mostly because Microsoft changed the way that Vista processes sound.

When you are in Import Audio do you have different choices for your Input? If so try each one and see if the meters move.

If not go to the Control Panel,Sound and look at your devices.Go to the Recording tab and right click on any device you see.

Now when the little menu pops up put a check next to Show Disabled Devices.

Go back to the Recording tab and see if there are any new devices. If there are right click them and check Enable.

Now go back to Music Lab and see if you have any more choices for Input that may work.

If not then the issue is between Vista and the sound card and not the software.
